BalloonFest Voluntter Rules, Expectations & Event Schedule
Ø NEW –If on the volunteer form you indicated that you wish to ONLY help out a specific pilot; then you will need to contact that pilot directly for your meal ticket and not obtain it from Dave or the Check-in coordinator.
Ø We encourage you to periodically check in with myself or Dave during the event (in green shirts) for ad-hoc help, changes or resource utilizing.
Ø Must be 16 years or older. You can not take your children under 16 with you into the fenced in area. Please, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Ø Have your wrist band displayed at all times.
Ø You must have your parking pass in the front window of your vehicle to get into the parking area
Ø You must check yourself in upon your arrival to get a meal ticket. Just because we see you we are not going to check you in, you must come and do it yourself. The check-in coordinator will be located at the flight GO/NO GO flag pole.
Ø You may be asked to help inflate or deflate the balloon and you may be asked to help pack and unpack balloon contents. (Gondola, envelope, fans, etc.) You must be able to help lift and maneuver 50 lbs. or more. Crew must wear closed toe shoes. (Tennis shoes are ok.)
Ø Crews are recommended wearing 100% cotton clothes. (All cotton pants and shirts.) You must bring own leather or cotton gloves. Pilot may not provide them for you.
Ø If you are asked to fly, it’s a requirement that you contact your pilot for signing the liability waiver form before getting into the basket.
Ø Scoring Volunteers: You may be asked to score on the field or at a designated place away from the field. You must be able to read a tape measure. You must be able to read a map. You must be able to understand boundary rules. It’s helpful if you have knowledge of using a GPS
Ø If possible, please provide your email for communications.

Wednesday June 30th Set-Up: 9:00 AM – ? (Need setup persons)
Thursday July 1st Set-Up 10:00 AM – ? (Need ANYONE WHO CAN HELP)
Thursday July 1st Media Flight/TETHER 5:00PM – 10:00 PM (Need crew, tether, security, propane persons)
Friday July 2nd Fun Flight 6:00AM – 9:00AM (need EVERYONE)
Friday July 2nd Sponsor Flight & Glow/tether 5:00PM – 11:00PM (need EVERYONE)
Saturday July 3rd Morning Race 5:30AM – 9:00AM (need EVERYONE)
Saturday July 3rd Evening Race & Glow/tether 5:00PM – 11:00PM (need EVERYONE)
Sunday July 4th for Morning Race 5:30AM – 9:00AM (need EVERYONE)
Sunday July 4th for field tear down 8:00AM -12:00pM (need ANYONE WHO CAN HELP)
